After the Mass Murder in Nice, France

     Young men, and some young women, are drawn to ISIS, drawn to becoming martyrs for the caliphate, in order to find meaning in their lives, to attach their empty-feeling lives to something larger, rooted in holiness.  We can't protect ourselves from every pilot or driver or holder of a credit card (sharpened like a razor) without creating a police state that requires everyone to be firmly strapped in their seat belt at all times.  That would be a regime I myself would want to attack.

     So-called "Islamic" terrorism will subside when Muslim clerics and Muslim community organizations of good faith declare over and over and over again that terrorist violence is a defamation of Islam.  Some are saying so now, but not enough, not often enough, not loud enough.
